Police investigating claims man was attacked by three bouncers outside Newcastle casino

These are the injuries a landlord claims he sustained in an attack by three bouncers outside The Gate.

Police are probing Graham Carr's claims that he was hit and choked by Aspers security after an argument over a gold card.

He claims he spoke back to them after they called his partner a "s***".

A spokesman for the casino denied the claims and said Mr Carr made "death threats" to staff.

However, the 37-year-old has branded that nonsense, adding: "I'm 6ft and 14st - there were three of these massive blokes and one of them was about 25st.

"I was kicked in the side of the head and choked, and they have given me a right good going over.

"They stretched my fingers so badly they are still crippled and I'm partially deaf in one ear still."

The drama unfolded in the early hours of October 31.

Mr Carr, who is a gold card member at the casino, had been out with his partner to commemorate the anniversary of his father's death.

After stepping outside, he claims staff refused him re-entry.

Mr Carr said a fracas then unfolded as the violence spilled out on Stowell Street.

The casino said that Mr Carr overstepped the mark with comments made to its staff, which Mr Carr denies.

"We went outside for a cigarette but when I tried to go back I was just told 'you aren't getting in, you've had too much to drink'," he said.

"I'd only had a couple of pints but I said OK. I told him I was a gold members, and to be a gold member you have to be respected and behaved, but he just took the card off me and it spiralled."

Mr Carr added: "The bouncer just turned around and said he couldn't give a f*** about my dad and called my partner a s***.

"He was jumping around like a gorilla saying 'what did you f***ing say to me' and then my partner was grabbed - she's only eight-and-a-half stone and she was thrown around like she was nothing."

"We can confirm that an incident involving a man and a woman occurred outside Aspers, Newcastle on October 31," said a casino spokesperson.

"During the course of it, the man made verbal death threats to Aspers staff who called the police.

"The man was arrested by police and the woman was subsequently helped by Aspers staff.

"Police investigations are continuing and therefore Aspers can make no further comment."

When police arrived, Mr Carr was arrested on suspicion of assaulting his partner. He was released without charge.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said the force is now investigating the incident to see if Mr Carr was the victim of an attack.
