Police investigating city centre stabbing release CCTV of two men fist-bumping

Police investigating a stabbing in the city centre want to speak to two men seen on CCTV fist bumping around the time of the attack.

Two 24-year-old men were stabbed in Lower Parliament Street at around 3.51am on Sunday, April 28. They both received hospital treatment but were later discharged.

Lower Parliament Street was closed until around 6.30am on Sunday as police cordoned off the area near Poundland and Boots to conduct an investigation.

Residents said they were "petrified" upon hearing about the incident.

Police have released CCTV footage after the stabbing and want to trace the two men pictured.

Detective Sergeant Jon Kerry, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "We are appealing for these men to come forward, or anyone who recognises them, as they may have information that could help the enquiry.

"The images are very clear so I am sure someone will know who they are.

"I would also appeal for anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything to come forward.

"We know a large number of people were in the area at the time and haven't come forward so I would urge them to call 101 too, quoting incident number 144 of 28 April 2019.

"If you'd rather report something anonymously you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
