Police are investigating whether a fire that caused significant damage to a Torrens townhouse was suspicious.
Firefighters were called to the fire on Batchelor Street, Torrens, about 7.30pm Thursday and found the townhouse well alight.
"ACT Fire and Rescue extinguished the fire with the apartment sustaining significant damage. No other apartments in the area were affected. ... The residence was unoccupied at the time of the fire," police said in a statement.
"The circumstances surrounding the fire are being investigated by detectives from ACT Policing's criminal investigations."
