Police investigating arson at commercial property after overnight fire

An appeal has been launched by police after a report of arson in Mansfield.

A commercial property in Mansfield was reported to be on fire at 2am on Tuesday morning (October 8).

It is believed someone smashed the front window of the property, in Woodhouse Road, before setting the building on fire.

A Nottinghamshire Police spokesman said: "Officers from Nottinghamshire Police are appealing for information and witnesses following a report of arson in Mansfield.

"Nottinghamshire Police was called at around 2am on Tuesday 8 October 2019 to Woodhouse Road, Mansfield, when a commercial property was reported to be on fire.

"It is believed that someone smashed the front window of the property before setting the building on fire.

"Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information should contact 101 quoting incident number 59 of 8 October 2019."
