Picture: NSW Police

Police this weekend have renewed their appeal for information about an armed hold-up in Newcastle earlier this year.

A woman entered a Hunter Street convenience store just after 1am on May 7 and threatened a male employee with a knife, police said.

The woman demanded cash before fleeing the scene along Hunter Street.

She is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in her early to mid 30s and being between 150cm and 155cm tall.

Police have released a CCTV image of a vehicle believed to be linked to the hold-up.

Anyone with information about the incident is being asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
