Police investigating and parents warned after reports man tried to entice children into his car with sweets

South Wales Police are investigating after reports of a man attempting to entice children into his car by offering sweets in West Cross, Swansea.

No children were harmed in the alleged incident, which happened on Tuesday, October 13, but parents in the surrounding area have been warned by their local schools.

Police have said they are examining CCTV in connection with the incident and are appealing for anyone with information to contact them. You can read more stories about West Cross here.

South Wales Police said it was called at around 5.50pm on Tuesday following reports of a suspicious incident in Cross Acre, West Cross.

DI Gareth Jones said: “Incidents of this nature are very rare and no children were harmed. Nonetheless, I completely understand the concern it has caused the community in West Cross.

“We are taking this incident seriously and officers are continuing with their enquiries to establish the full circumstances.”

"Enquiries, including the assessment of CCTV are taking place, however anyone with any information about the incident should contact us by one of the following means quoting occurrence number 2100358715."
