Police investigating after woman falls from window of Choppington home in early hours

Police are investigating how a woman fell out of window in a residential street in the early hours of the morning.

Just after 1.15am on Friday, an ambulance crew was called to a home on Woodhorn Drive, Choppington in Northumberland.

The woman was then taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI) in Newcastle and is believed to have serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The fall was reported to police at 4.50am and they are now investigating the circumstances surrounding it.

Officers have been speaking to neighbours on the street on Friday morning.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Northumbria Police on 101 and quote reference number 146 31/05/19.

A spokesperson for the North East Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 1.21 in the early hours of this morning to a private address on Woodhorn Drive, Choppington.

"We dispatched a double crewed ambulance and transported one patient to the RVI."
