A man's body has been found in a Gateshead woodland.
Police were called to the scene early on Thursday after someone made the discovery just off Old Durham Road between Deckham and Sheriff Hill.
Officers have been carrying out investigations and now say they don't believe there was any third party involvement.
A spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: "At about 6.10am today (Thursday), police received a report that a man had been found deceased in the woodland off Old Durham Road, next to The Avenue, in Gateshead.
“There is not believed to be any third party involvement and a report will now be prepared for the coroner."
