Police investigating after man's body discovered at North Belfast house

A man's body has been discovered at a house in North Belfast.

Detectives from the PSNI's Major Investigation Team are probing the circumstances surrounding his death.

The remains were found shortly before 11pm on Saturday night (May 23) at the Oakley Street home and a man, aged 34, has been arrested.


Detective Chief Inspector Darren McCartney said: "A post mortem examination will take place in due course to determine the cause of death however we are treating the death as suspicious at this time.

"A 34-year-old man has been arrested as part of the investigation and remains in custody at this time.

"The investigation is at a very early stage and there are no further details available at this time."
