Police investigating after man in white van approaches group of children in Bolton

Police are investigating after a man in a white van approached a group of children in Bolton.

Officers were called to Marsham Road in Westhoughton at around 7.15pm on Monday (September 28).

There were reports of a man approaching a group of children before leaving in a white van.

Enquiries are ongoing, GMP said.

It comes a few days after the attempted abduction of two young girls  in Bolton

Officers say a 10-year-old girl was approached by a man driving a white van on Broadford Road at around 3.20pm on September 23.

The man tried to persuade the girl to go with him.

The next day, at around 3.30pm, a second child - aged nine - was also approached in the same area on Armadale Road.

The man, in a white van, also asked her to go with him. Both girls ran away and raised the alarm to others.

The Manchester Evening News understands police are not linking the three incidents.
