Police investigating after death of man 'suffering medical episode' in Northern Quarter

Police are investigating after the death of a man in Manchester city centre.

Officers were called to William Fairburn Way in the Northern Quarter at around 10.35am today (Monday) to a report of a man 'suffering from a medical episode.'

Emergency services attended but sadly the man was pronounced dead a short while later.

Greater Manchester Police said inquiries into what happened are ongoing and the force was not yet able to confirm whether the death is being treated suspicious or non-suspicious.

Police appealed for anyone with information about the incident to come forward (Manchester Evening News)

A police cordon was in place near Manchester Craft and Design Centre on Cooperas Street.

GMP said in a statement: "Officers were called around 10.35am today (04/10) to William Fairburn Way, Manchester to a report of a male suffering from a medical episode.

"Emergency services attended but the man was sadly pronounced dead a short while later.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
