The body of a 65-year-old woman has been found inside a house at Port Pirie in South Australia's mid-north.
Major Crime detectives travelled to the town last night after the body was found inside a Penrose Street home just before 7:00pm.
"Police are investigating the unexplained death of a woman … Major Crime detectives attended Port Pirie to assist local police with the investigation and the Forensic Response Section have examined the scene overnight," a police statement said.
The woman's body will be taken to Adelaide for a post-mortem, police said.
Police said they were door-knocking the area to speak with neighbours.
