POLICE are investigating the unexplained death of a man at Edinburgh City Chambers.

Emergency services were called to an unresponsive person inside the building’s customer support hub around 9.10am on Monday.

A man was pronounced dead at the scene, with the death being treated as unexplained. There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.

Edinburgh Council’s website was encouraging residents to use the city’s other customer support offices or access council services online where possible.

Council leader Jane Meagher said: “Sadly a gentleman passed away in our Customer Hub on the High Street. Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time.”
