POLICE are investigating deliberate fires at four properties in Aberdeen which detectives believe were targeted and linked.
Officers have condemned the “reckless” acts and said it was lucky nobody was harmed.
Three of the incidents happened between 11pm on Friday and 4.30am on Saturday.
During that time an exterior doorway was set on fire at a property on Cummings Park Crescent, a shed was set alight on Provost Rust Drive, and a small fire was set at a property on Birkhall Parade.
The fourth incident happened at around 3am on Sunday when another fire was set at a property on Provost Rust Drive.
Firefighters extinguished all the blazes and nobody was injured.
Police appealed for information about the fires, which are being treated as wilful.
Detective Sergeant Niall Mullen said: “Thankfully, no-one was harmed as a result of these fires however these were reckless acts, and we are carrying out a number of enquiries to establish the full circumstances.
“We believe these fires were targeted and are all linked. There is no further risk to the wider public.
“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area around these times and may have witnessed anything to please contact us.
“In addition, anyone with private CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage is asked to get in touch as this may be able to assist our investigation.
“Dedicated patrols will remain in these areas throughout the coming days and nights.”
