A 49-year-old man was seriously assaulted in Hamilton at the weekend.
Police are investigating the attack that took place at around 7.20pm yesterday (Sunday, May 12).
Officers say they were called to an incident at the fields behind St Peter’s Primary School in Highstonehall Road, Laighstonehall.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “The man has been involved in an altercation with a group of individuals.
“He sustained injuries to his face and was taken to the University Hospital Hairmyres for treatment. Anyone who has any further information on this incident is urged to call Police 101.
“Investigations into the incident are continuing.”
