An investigation has been launched into reports that a group of children were seen coughing on the gates outside elderly residents' homes.
Residents have claimed that it happened in the Minffordd area of Llangollen, Denbighshire, and now police are looking into the reports.
A concerned resident posted in a Llangollen Facebook group urging the parents of the youths responsible to take action.
She claimed in the post that the properties being targeted were the homes of elderly residents who would be classed as "high-risk" by the UK Government in light of the coronavirus outbreak.
The post continues: “This behaviour of the youth is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. They are putting the lives of our loved ones at risk.
“I trust the parents will drum into them what this coronavirus is about; it does not care who it takes down, including those who think themselves invincible to it.”
The post sparked outrage among members of the local community with some residents calling for the children to clean the gates and surrounding area to undo some of the damage. Others labelled the behaviour as “disrespectful”.
A spokesman for North Wales Police said: “We have been made aware and inquiries are ongoing in relation to this incident.”
The number of people who have died after contracting coronavirus in Wales has reached 506 after 11 more deaths were confirmed on Friday.
Public Health Wales also added that 244 more people have been tested positive for Covid-19 to bring the total since the outbreak began to 6,645.
