ACT Policing are investigating the cause of a house fire in Nicholls on Sunday night.
When emergency services arrived on the scene at around 6.30pm no one was at the property on Tazewell Circuit.
Quick work by firefighters saw the fire contained to the room of origin while smoke damage was sustained to a number of rooms within the house. Surrounding homes were not damaged.
ACT Fire and Rescue, supported by ACT Ambulance and ACT Policing, were in attendance, with no injuries sustained.
An Emergency Services Agency spokesperson said crews were on the scene for 1.5 to two hours before handing over to ACT Policing.
Tazewell Circuit is now open, however motorists have been advised to take care in the area while police are on scene.
