A man is in hospital with serious injuries after being stabbed in Melbourne overnight.
Police were called to Swanston Street in the CBD at about 7:35pm after reports of a stabbing.
The victim sustained serious injuries and was transported to hospital.
A 43-year-old man from Berwick was arrested shortly after on Flinders Street.
He will appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court this morning.
Police are investigating whether the two men know each other.
The investigation is ongoing and police urge anyone who witnessed the incident to contact Crime Stoppers.
