Arrests made after video emerges of boy swiping at another with meat cleaver

Two arrests have been made after reports a boy was cut with a meat cleaver during a brawl between school pupils in Oldham.

The 15-year-old boy suffered cuts to his leg following the fight which took place on Burnley Lane, Chadderton.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said his injuries are not thought to be serious.

Two boys aged 15 have been arrested on suspicion of affray, attempted section 18 assault and possession of a bladed article.

Yesterday mobile phone footage emerged of the fracas, which GMP have confirmed they been made aware of.

The clip, shared widely on social media, shows a big group of students gathered around two boys.
