Police investigate death of woman in Govan street

Police are investigating the death of a woman in a Govan street.

Emergency crews raced to Govan Road at around 4:40am this morning after receiving a report of the 45-year-old injured on the pavement. She was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers remain outside a as forensic crews examine an evidence tent.

Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "At 4:40am this morning officers were called to a report of a woman injured on Govan Road. Police and ambulance attended but the 45-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Enquiries are ongoing at the scene and in the local area to establish more information on her death.

"A post-mortem will take place in due course but the death is being treated as unexplained. There does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances."
