Police investigate death of baby boy in Mackay

Police are investigating the death of a six-month-old baby boy in Mackay in North Queensland.

The Queensland Ambulance Service was called to a house in East Mackay at 2:45pm on Tuesday, where the child was found unresponsive.

The boy was taken to Mackay Base Hospital and then transferred to Townsville Hospital, where he died yesterday.

No other information is available at this stage.
