Members of a care home management team are at the centre of a police investigation into alleged mistreatment of residents.
Springvale Care Home - where nine people died from coronavirus - has contacted families to inform them of the situation.
It is understood that the probe at the Lennoxtown facility is not related to the virus.
An email explains that full cooperation is being given to police and the Care Inspectorate, the Daily Record reports.
One a woman, whose sister-in-law, is a resident, explained: "We got a letter from police saying there was an investigation which was followed by another letter and a phone call.
"They were asking us to get in touch if we had any concerns about my husband's sister, but she's fine. I understand it concerns dementia patients."
The email to relatives from home bosses tells relatives: "We have been made aware of some anonymous concerns made with regards to certain members of the management team at Springvale. Naturally, the home is working closely with all regulatory bodies, including the Care Inspectorate and Police Scotland, to hopefully bring this to a swift conclusion."
An Police Scotland added: "We can confirm we are investigating reports of potential mistreatment of both current and previous residents at Springvale Care Home in Lennoxtown.
"Inquiries are at an early stage."
