Police investigate an 'unexplained' sudden death of a man in West Lothian

Police are probing the "unexplained" death of a man in West Lothian.

Cops were called to an address in Preston Road, Linlithgow, this morning.

Officers are now investigating the sudden death of the 53-year-old.

Neighbours said forensic specialists were at the scene and had erected a tent in a back garden on the street to carry out their work.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Officers in Linlithgow were called to a property on Preston Road at 8.30am following the sudden death of a 53-year-old man.

"The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries into the circumstances are at an early stage."
