Police investigate after woman's body found in Angus river

A WOMAN’S body has been found in a river in Angus, sparking a police probe.

Officers said that they were called to the discovery of the body at around 4.30pm on Wednesday.

They attended the scene at Kilry, about 10 miles north of Blairgowrie near the popular Reekie Linn waterfall.

The woman has not been named and police say enquires are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4.30pm on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, we were made aware of a body in the water at Kilry, north of Blairgowrie.

“The body of a woman was recovered from the water. 

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
