Family of woman found dead in Kew house appeal for privacy

A home in Kew where two people were found dead.

The family of a 70-year-old woman found dead at Kew on Monday have appealed for privacy to deal with the "tragic matter" which happened "in the company of a person she considered a friend".

The bodies of the pair were found at a house on Princess Street shortly before 4:00pm on Monday.

In a statement, the woman's family appealed for privacy.

Police have not commented on the nature of the pair's relationship.

"We are deeply saddened by the passing of our mother, in the company of a person who she considered a friend," the family said.

"She was a beautiful mother and grandmother who loved her family passionately.

"We are grief-stricken that this beautiful woman has been taken away from us but she can never be taken from our hearts.

"Whilst we understand the interest in this tragic matter, we would appreciate that the privacy of our family is respected at this time."

Homicide detectives and investigators said they were not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths and police were preparing a report for the coroner.
