Police 'suspicious' after two bodies found in central Queensland house

A crime scene has been established at the Rockhampton home where two bodies were found.

Police are investigating the suspicious deaths of a man and a woman at a house in central Queensland overnight.

Officers say the bodies of the pair were found at a residence on Frenchville Road in Rockhampton about 9:30pm on Monday.

A crime scene has been declared and detectives are working to establish the circumstances around the deaths.

The bodies were yet to be removed from the home.

Detective Senior Sergeant Luke Peachey said police had not yet been able to positively identify the victims.

He said the two people were found in the main bedroom.

"We have our suspicions but until we're able to positively identify the two persons, we won't be releasing any further details," he said.

Detective Senior Sergeant Peachey said he could not confirm who had made the triple-0 call.

"All I'll say is that we were notified by a person and as a result we've attended that address and obviously located those two persons," he said.

He said police were speaking to neighbours and would support anyone who needed that support.

Homicide detectives from Brisbane have been called in and are expected to remain in the region for a few days.

Anyone who might have information is being asked to contact police.
