Police investigate after reports of teenager with machete on main road in Ilkeston

Officers were called to search for a 'teenager with a machete' after a sighting was reported in Kirk Hallam, Ilkeston.

The call to Derbyshire Police was made around 8.15pm on Saturday, October 12.

A spokeswoman for the police confirmed that the caller said there was a boy in his "mid-teens" walking along Ladywood Road, near the Co-op petrol station and carrying a "machete".

The teenager was described as white, of slim build and around five foot, six inches tall.

He was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a black and grey top.

Officers attended the scene and searched the area but didn't find anything.
