Police investigate after man's body found at Liverpool house

Police are appealing for information after a man in his 50s suddenly died.

Emergency services were called to a home on Haydn Road, in Dovecot, in the early hours of Monday.

Police said officers were called after paramedics had attended the home.

Despite emergency workers' best efforts, a 52-year-old man died at the scene.

His family has been informed and family liaison officers are now providing them with specialist support, police said.

The force said no cause of death has been established yet and a post-mortem will be carried out.

Officers remain at the scene now carrying out house-to-house enquiries and have urged anyone with any information to contact them.

A spokesman for the force said: "Detectives are investigating the unexplained death of a 52-year-old man at a house in Dovecot in the early hours of today (Monday 9 November).

"Officers arrived at the address on Haydn Road after the North West Ambulance Service attended following a call to emergency services.

"Paramedics sadly pronounced the man deceased at the scene.

"His family has been informed and Family Liaison Officers are providing them with specialist support.

"A Home Office post mortem will be carried out to establish the cause of death.
