Police investigate after injured man dies in Edinburgh flat

Police are investigating the death of a man at a flat in west Edinburgh.

Officers were called to the property in the Bughtlin area of the capital on Friday morning.

In a statement Police Scotland said their units were responding to reports of concern for a person inside the flat.

But when officers arrived they found a 47-year-old man who had been seriously injured, he sadly died shortly after.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Around 6.50am on Friday, 29 May, we received reports of a concern for a person within a property on North Bughtlin Brae in Edinburgh.

“Emergency services attended and a 47-year-old man was found in a serious condition and pronounced dead a short time later.

“Enquiries into the circumstances leading to the man’s death are ongoing.”
