Police say body found at Darebin Parklands in Melbourne not suspicious

There was a heavy police presence at the park, but police now say the death is not suspicious.

Victoria Police say they are not treating as suspicious the death of a person whose body was found in parklands at Alphington in Melbourne's inner north-east.

Emergency services were called to the Darebin Parklands at 11:25am after a passer-by saw the body in a lake.

Police said the death was not being treated as suspicious and a report would be prepared for the coroner.
