Police 'increasingly concerned' for welfare of missing Scots pensioner who has dementia

Police have launched an urgent search to trace a missing Scots pensioner who suffers from dementia.

They are "increasing concerned" about the welfare of 73-year-old Mary McFarlane who has been reported missing from the Menzieshill area of Dundee.

Mary was last seen at about 2.10pm today in Earn Crescent in the city.

She is described as 5ft and is of medium build with bobbed hair.

The pensioner can have difficulty walking and has a stoop.

When last seen, she was wearing a blue padded jacket, navy trousers and light-coloured sandshoes.

She was also carrying a black handbag.

Sergeant Barry Cochlan urged anyone who may have saw her to come forward.

He said: “Mary can have mobility issues and she also suffers from dementia. We are becoming increasingly concerned for her welfare.

“If anyone sees Mary or knows where she might be, please get in touch with us immediately by calling 101, quoting incident number 2350 of Saturday, 21 August, 2021.”
