Police 'increasingly concerned' for missing man as work vehicle found near Scots woods

Cops are growing 'increasing concerned' for a missing man after his work vehicle was found in a Scots woodland.

Andrew Gardiner was reported missing from his home in Dumfries and Galloway having been last seen at around 11am on Monday.

Police say a work vehicle used by the 46-year-old from Castle Douglas has now been found off the A706 at Heathland Forest in South Lanarkshire on Monday.

Searches of the area have been carried out and enquiries are ongoing to trace him

Inspector Colin Scott said: "We are concerned for Andrew's welfare, increasingly so the longer he remains out of contact with his family.

"I would urge anyone who may see him or who has any information about his whereabouts to come forward.

"Anyone with information can call police on 101, quoting incident 2306 of 7 September."

Andrew is described as being around 6ft 1in tall with short brown hair.

He is believed to have been wearing a navy blue polo shirt, black jeans and dark coloured boots.
