Police 'increasing concerned' for welfare of missing Scots teen boy

Police are "increasingly concerned" about the welfare of a missing teenager from Dumfries.

Alam Kharote, 14, was last seen in the Hardthorn Road area of the town at about 3pm this afternoon (Saturday).

The teenager is described as Middle Eastern and is 5ft 5in tall, of slim build and has short dark hair.

He was last seen wearing a navy blue zip-up top, blue denim jeans, black slider footwear and was carrying a grey/silver backpack.

Cops are appealing for help as they try to trace Alam.

Inspector Colin McKinstry, of Dumfries Police Station, said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to trace Alam, and we are becomingly increasingly concerned for his welfare.

“Anyone with any information that could assist us in tracing Alam is urged to contact Police Scotland by calling 101, quoting incident 2547 of 31 July.”
