Police incident Argyle Street: Body found in Yorkhill in Glasgow's west end

A section of Argyle Street has been taped off after the body of a man was found in Yorkhill.

Police were alerted to the grim discovery, near Haugh Road in Glasgow's west end, shortly after 4am this morning.

An area of the pavement outside the Roast coffee shop on Argyle Street has been cordoned off, close to the junction of Radnor Street, near Kelvingrove Park.

Police have confirmed the body of a 56-year-old man was discovered and his death does not appear to be suspicious. Officers have launched an investigation and a post mortem will take place in due course.

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed to Glasgow Live: "Around 4.10 am on Tuesday, 13 April, 2021, the body of a 56-year-old man was found on Argyle Street, near Haugh Road, Glasgow.

"At this time, his death does not appear suspicious, however, a post mortem will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of his death.

"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal. Officers remain at the scene."
