Police in West Yorkshire tweet details of most ridiculous 101 call

West Yorkshire Police have taken to social media to mock a caller to their non-emergency 101 call service - who asked about buying a car.

The man reportedly dialled 101, before telling the operator that he had found a car he 'liked the look of'.

He then went on to ask West Yorkshire Police to run it through their computer systems, and then message the owner to persuade them to sell it to him - because that would be a great use of police time...

The response from police to that request - as you'd expect:

"Not going to happen is it!"
