Police in West Lothian hunt father and 12-year-old son missing since yesterday

Police in West Lothian are hunting for a missing father and son.

Alan Caldwell (48) from Polbeth took his twelve-year-old son Thomas out and the pair have not been seen since yesterday afternoon.

Police and the family are now desperately appealing to the public for information.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers in West Lothian are carrying out enquiries to trace father and son Alan Caldwell (48) and Thomas Caldwell (12), who have been reported missing from Polbeth.

“They were last seen around 1pm on Monday, 12 April, and are believed to be travelling in a purple Volvo S40 (SL05 LPP). Anyone with information should contact the police on 101, quoting incident 3513 of 12 April.”

Alan’s daughter, Chloe, posted on Facebook saying that her dad and brother had popped out for a haircut and didn’t return.

Chloe said: “Has anyone seen my brother and dad, they have been out of contact since half one. Last seen in my dads purple/grey Volvo.

“My dad was taking Thomas to get his haircut at the Turkish barbers in West Calder, we are hoping that they have just drove somewhere to go a walk and have broken down.

“Can everyone please keep an eye out for them?”
