Police in urgent plea for help in tracing two young girls

Police in Renfrewshire are urgently appealing for help in tracing two teenage girls missing since early yesterday.

Sophia Gourlay and Laura Walker, both aged 14, were last seen around 6.20am on Tuesday in Lochwinnoch.

The youngsters are believed to have boarded a train for Glasgow, but they have not been seen or heard from since.

Sophia is described as 5ft 6ins tall with long dark brown hair and was wearing a black duffel jacket with black hood, black trousers and dark trainers.

Laura is described as 5ft 1ins tall with mouse blonde hair and was wearing a black North Face hoodie, grey jogging bottoms and white/black trainers.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police.

A police spokesperson said: “Anyone who may have seen Sophia or Laura since this time, or has any information on where they might be, is urged to contact Police Scotland.”

Those with information can ring police on their 101 number quoting incident number 2723.
