Police in Sweden have arrested a teenager in connection with a shooting in the eastern city of Uppsala on Tuesday, which left three people dead.
The person under arrest is under the age of 18, and officers are investigating the possibility of links to gang crime, police said in a statement.
The three victims were aged between 15 and 20, police said at a news conference, but Uppsala police chief Erik Åkerlund said their identities have not been confirmed "100%" yet.
Police said on Tuesday that they had received calls from members of the public who reported hearing loud bangs reminiscent of gunfire in central Uppsala, a university city located north of the capital Stockholm.
Photos of the scene showed police outside a barber shop called "Shalom".
"A total of three people were found shot and deceased inside the hair salon," Åkerlund told reporters following the attack.
A large area was cordoned off by police as they launched an investigation.
Local resident Nina said she felt "uncomfortable" because the attack happened in a residential neighbourhood next door to where she lives, in an area where children frequently play.
"I picked up my partner just before we drove past here. We live next door and I think there are children and young people in these areas. I find it very uncomfortable,” she said.
Sweden has grappled with gang violence for years, which has resulted in frequent shootings and bomb attacks.
