Police in Spain hunting man who killed two teachers and remains at large

Spanish police are conducting investigations and search missions for a male suspect.

Two teachers were shot dead by what is understood to be a lone gunman travelling by motorcycle on Monday.

Police in Spain picked up the search on Tuesday after the motorbike was found on the Spanish side of the border in the northeastern Aragon region.

The incident took place in Pouyastruc village, near Tarbes, in France.

No physical details about the subject have been released, with police searches “ongoing” in the nearby towns and villages. It is understood, however, that he was a former partner of the first victim.

This was a 32-year-old woman, who was found in the street by neighbours. The second was a 55-year-old man, who was found in his home.

Expatica reports that the perpetrator and the victim, who has been identified as Aurelie Pardon, had two children together and were in the process of separating.

Aurelie taught French in a school in Tarbes, while the second victim, Gabriel Fourmigue, taught sports at the same school.
