Police in South Belfast urging residents to be vigilant after reports of suspicious activity

Police in South Belfast are asking residents to be on the lookout for a black Transit van following reports of suspicious activity in the area.

The Lisburn Road Neighbourhood Policing Team posted an appeal on social media on Sunday to those living in the Belvoir area.

The vehicle registration is not known at this time.

A PSNI spokesperson added: "A local resident contacted police on Saturday 22nd August to report this van with three unknown males on board who were going door to door enquiring about washing patios.

"Caller found their behaviour suspicious and is concerned due to recent incidents of dog thefts in the area.

"Please be vigilant, look after one another and report any unusual or suspicious activity to police by contacting 101."
