Police in Shotts appeal for info after man left with serious facial injury

Police in Shotts are appealing for information after a man sustained a serious facial injury.

It was reported that between 8pm and 8.15pm on Saturday, August 31, the 42 year-old man was assaulted, possibly punched, outside a bar on Station Road, near to Easter Road.

He attended at Monklands General Hospital the following day where he required surgery.

Constable John Evans, from Shotts Police Office, said: “This man has sustained a serious facial injury which required him to be admitted to hospital.

“He was outside the bar on Saturday night and is believed to have been assaulted by a man who was wearing a white coloured hoodie.

“The area would have been busy that night, with people out enjoying themselves, picking up food from nearby takeaways or making their way home. Somebody must have seen something.

“We are asking you to think back, where you on Station Road in Shotts on Saturday night? Do you remember seeing any sort of altercation taking place?

“You may have dash-cam footage, we ask you to look back as you may have information that can help us.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Police via 101, quoting incident number 4320 of Sunday 1 September 2019.

Alternatively you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be given in confidence.
