Police in Lanarkshire appeal for further witnesses after town centre incident results in arrest

Police are appealing for further witnesses after a man was arrested and charged with threatening behaviour during an incident in Hamilton last week.

The incident took place in the Albert Street area at around 6.20pm on Friday, December 17.

Officers were called to the scene following a report of a man shouting threats at individuals in a parked car, before chasing a man who was passing by and attempted to intervene.

The suspect, a 27-year-old man, was arrested and charged, and appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland told Lanarkshire Live : "Officers are asking for any witnesses to the incident, including the man who was chased, to please come forward.

"You can call police on 101 or leave information anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
