Police in Lanarkshire appeal after teen goes missing wearing dressing gown

Police are appealing for information to help trace a missing 16-year-old girl who left home wearing her dressing gown.

Jessica McMurray was last seen about 8.30pm on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Pollock Lane, East Kilbride.

She is known to frequent East Kilbride, Hamilton and the Glasgow City Centre areas.

Jessica is described as a white female, 5ft 4in, of slim build, with long brown hair and was last seen wearing a grey and white dressing gown.

She also had on black and grey leggings and white Nike sliders - it is expected that the dressing gown may have been discarded.

Sergeant Gary Mackie told Lanarkshire Live : "Officers have been carrying out significant enquiries since Jessica was reported missing but so far she has not been located and no one has confirmed any sightings of her since leaving home.

"We would like to appeal to anyone who may be able to provide any information regarding Jessica’s whereabouts or potential sightings that will assist us in tracing her.

"I would also ask Jessica herself to get in contact with friends, family, support services or Police."

Police can be contacted by calling 101 and quoting incident number 1697 of 17 September 2021.
