Police in Edinburgh appeal for witnesses of hate crime aboard number 26 bus

Police in Edinburgh are today appealing for witnesses following a hate crime that took place on a bus in the city centre.

At around 5pm on Wednesday 29 January an 18-year-old woman travelling on a number 26 Lothian bus was verbally abused by a man for a prolonged period of time.

There were other passengers on the bus who intervened, and officers are keen to speak to anyone who may be able to assist with the investigation.

Those with information should contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3329 of 29 January 2020, or make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
