Police in East Kilbride step up hunt for missing man last seen in the town

Police in East Kilbride are asking for help as they step up their search for a missing man.

Gavin Shanley was last seen in the in the area on Sunday (May 10) but has not been seen since.

And officers say there are “concerns” the welfare of the 31-year-old.

Descried as Scottish, natural tanned skin colour, 5ft 8in,of  slim build with shoulder-length straight dark hair, Gavin has links to Alloa and Edinburgh.

He has a beard said to be “more than a stubble, but not bushy” and when last seen, was wearing a dark blue/black North Face puffer jacket, dark blue/black waterproof trousers, brown walking boots and carrying a rucksack.

A police source said: “We are appealing for the public’s help as part of our efforts to trace Gavin.

“Anyone who may have seen him since this time, or who has any information on his whereabouts, is urged to contact Police Scotland via 101.”
