Police in Dundee issue image of crashed motorbike as they seek owner

Police Scotland is aiming to trace the owner of a motorbike after they abandoned it following a smash with a car last night.

The electric scrambler-style bike, largely black with purple handlebars, was left by the rider after the collision at the junction of Moncur Crescent and Provost Road in the Hilltown area of the city.

Following the crash at around 5pm on Monday November 22 the biker, dressed all in black, abandoned the bike.

They left the scene on foot in the direction of Isla Street to the east of the crash site.

The bike has since been recovered by officers, who have issued a picture of the vehicle in a bid to identify its owner.

The crash happened at the junction of Moncur Crescent and Provost Road (Google Street View)

It has a sticker reading "GH#1" and a damaged sticker that partially reads "AUTOS" on its frame.

Police are keen to trace the rider amid concerns for their welfare.

Local sergeant Karen Judge said: "Prior to police arrival, the motorcyclist left the area and we are concerned for their welfare and condition.

"We ask that they get in touch with us to confirm they are not injured. The driver of the car was uninjured.

"The motorcyclist left the area in the direction of Isla Street and was dressed in all black clothing.

"We have issued images of the bike in the hope that someone may recognise it which could help us in tracing the motorcyclist.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting 2545 of Monday, 22 November."
