Edinburgh Police cordon off Granton Crescent Park after teen 'slashed' during serious assault

Police in Edinburgh were called to a serious assault at Granton Crescent Park this morning.

They were called to attend the incident at approx 11.20am today (Monday 22 July), which was believed to have taken place in the Granton Crescent Park area.

In a statement from the Police it has been confirmed that a 19-year-old man has been taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with a serious injury, which is not thought to be life-threatening. Forth One News have reported that the teenager was 'slashed' with a weapon in the violent incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson added: "Officers remain in the area and are currently following a positive line of enquiry in connection with this."
