Police identify mystery woman after body pulled from River Forth six days ago

Cops investigating the death of an unnamed woman found in a Scots river have identified her family following a six day appeal.

Veronica Frincu was tragically pulled from the River Forth near Society Road in South Queensferry on June 13.

The 30-year-old, whose family have now been informed, was not carrying any indication prompting officers to appeal to the public for help.

They released images of unique jewellery that the young woman was wearing and details of a tattoo in a bid to reunite her with her relatives.

Police Scotland confirmed she has now been identified and that there are currently no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.

A spokesperson said: “The woman has now been identified as 30-year-old Veronica Frincu and her relatives have been informed of the death.

“There are no apparent suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

"Members of the public are thanked for their response to our appeal.”
