Police hunting van driver after cyclist seriously injured in crash

Officers are hunting for a van driver after it failed to stop after a cyclist was seriously injured in a crash in Leeds.

West Yorkshire Police are appealing for information after the driver of a white transit van didn't stop at the scene of the accident on East Grange Drive, yesterday, April 14.

Just before 5.30pm a cyclist was struck by the van, which then drove off.

The cyclist, a man in his 20s, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to hospital for treatment.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Officers investigating the incident are keen to hear from anyone who was driving in the area at the time and may have captured the incident on Dashcam footage.

"Likewise, any other witnesses are asked to contact the non-emergency number 101 or use the online live-chat facility available via the Force website.

"If you can assist in the enquiries, please reference PC 6042 Gibson of the Roads Policing Unit and log 13200185127."
