Police hunting two thugs in Johnstone after man permanently scarred in attack

Police are on the hunt for two thugs who left a man permanently scarred during a vicious attack in Renfrewshire.

The 26-year-old was set upon by the yobs on Church Street, Johnstone, around 9.15pm on Friday July 31.

He was rushed to Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he was treated for a serious injury.

Now Police are appealing to anyone who may have any information which may help them track down those responsible.

One of the men is described as being in his late teens, early 20’s, with dark hair and wearing a grey tracksuit, the other male is described as wearing black tracksuit bottoms and a black t-shirt.

Detective Constable Liam Rodgers, of Paisley Mill Street said: “The victim has been left with an injury which will cause permanent scarring.

“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident and who saw anything suspicious or saw a group of young men around that time to come forward.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident 4159 of 31 July, 2020.
